I like a deep skinning blade where I can rest my pointing finger on the top of the blade spine just behind the tip.  My finger acts like a guide and I can control the depth of my cut, which would be the distance from the blade tip to my fingertip. I also like the cutting edge below my grip, so I have full access to the edge at every wrist angle without my grip getting in the way.  This unique but practical field dressing design are hard to find.
